I posted previously about my lack of success restoring from multiple DVD sets that were recorded using existing .tib files (I'm not using rw discs & packet software, in other words).
I got a support ticket for the first computer I was trying to restore to but I'm not too surprised it hasn't worked; it has ten hard drives and is the reason I'm migrating from Ghost 2003.
What bugs me is I've tried to restore from multiple DVD-R and DVD+R disc sets on two other computers without success. After clicking Proceed, I instantly get the message "Image restored successfully" but all that happened was turning the target partition into "unallocated".
I can restore from a single DVDR disc for a partition with less data.
I'm recording 1.4GB files, three per DVD, using ISO/UDF format. Using "check image" tool, they always check out fine.
I put the last disc of the set in the drive first, so ATI sees the last .tib file, and things look good. It never asks me to put "volume 1" in. I tried putting the first disc in without the prompt and get the message "corrupted file" AND "image restored successfully"!
Fortunately, I'm able to restore from local and LAN hard drives just fine.
My request: would someone please confirm they have been able to restore using multiple DVDR discs with True Image 9.0 Build 2289? (or the latest build, for that matter)
Update: Using build 2302, got further than before. It will ask for Volume 1 DVD, read it, then ask for the next disc (with the scary looking error message). It then tells me the media is unreadable. Hogwash, it checks out fine using the image check tool. <<sigh>>
