How anonymous is this? has any one any experience of this?

The data sent out is nothing to worry about. Though some folks a while back did make a stink about it.... but the data is used to help make a better product, so I can't really understand what the problem is. It doesn't send anything other than what was blocked by Prevx. But really.... if anyone is so paranoid about it just block Prevx with your firewall.

Do not worry about what Prevx is sending back home. Its just info about how you used the product and what all alerts you got and how you responded to them. It helps make a finer product.

Prevx has been audited by some other organisation (can't remember who) who classified it as safe.

It sends back information on any action that breaks prevx's rules...so depending on what you do on your computer, this can be anything from very frequently to very seldom.

If you are worried about the information it sends back, the Pro version (paid) allows you to turn of the PAWS function. Prevx Pro is also a lot quieter (you can edit it's rules to stop most popups)

You can create rules to make it quieter with both the home and pro products.. it's just that with the home, if you do something wrong you have to start all over. The data that it sends is only what you see in the alerts, and it's only about the behavior or various processes as they interact with the system, not anything to do with anything personal. It would be sending stuff like "malware.exe placed a driver in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ and was denied" or "myprogram.exe wrote legitfile.exe to c:\program files\myprogram\ and was allowed" ..but would not alert on any kind of document files or anything that doesn't have to do with a program. I don't see this as a problem at all, as it's all going to be public knowledge.. but in the case of malware, knowing how it's infecting people's systems, and being able to access that knowledge from the product, will allow you to make a more informed decision on whether or not to block it.
