Simple, the installer comes in many languages and auto install himself in the computer native language (my case english) .

As for PestPatrol :
I only have the "original" version of it, and not the newer one from CA (although I can get definition-updates).
So I cannot speak about the newer version from CA.
But I would warn for false positives from PP !!!
The FP's from PP are ridiculous :(
Only two examples (on a W98SE machine) :

Wilders Security Forums is for me the best place to share all security items, and to give info about free commercial software belongs to the same chapter.
IMHO we are all here to help each other and sharing information is one of the most important issues on Wilders;)

Hi,
First of all: thanks to Smokey for giving the info !!!!! :D
My reply is only for the PestPatrol part of it.
{QUOTE-> Jan, would you say that PP is a bit to much for kids to use....will take your advice on this.
<-QUOTE}
I have to admit that I find it a little bit difficult to answer.
For several reasons:
1.
I have only Windows 98 SE Dutch.
2.
I don't have the latest version of PestPatrol (PP) from CA.
I have the "original" version of PP for several years, almost from the start of it.
I have never ever let PP run resident.
I only let it do scans on-demand; and not even that very frequently.
I hate to say it, but PP has for so many times giving false positives.
In my humble opinion you cannot trust its results.
But that might have changed in the latest version from CA; I don't know...
Ask how many Spyware-fighters rely on it or recommand it.
My guess : not many ...
You can let PP do a free scan of your system:
http://www.pestpatrol.com/prescan.htm
I haven't done it.
You can also for example let Panda do a free online scan:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm
and KAV:
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
and Trend Micro:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
There is the free version of Ewido (not running on W98SE).
The free version is only for on-demand scanning.
http://www.ewido.net/en/
And all those free versions of SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard, IE-SPYAD, MVPS HOSTS-file, Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, etc.
And, if parents of kids can afford it:
(no, this is not an advertisement)
get BOClean (of course in combination of an anti-virus (AV)) !!!
It's a one time pay (well, at least for now). Set it up in unattended cleaning mode.
Or TrojanHunter.
Or Ewido.
And see also for example:

Well P2P apps are no false positive because all antispyware programs detect them like this. Donno the reason for this though...

{QUOTE-> Well P2P apps are no false positive because all antispyware programs detect them like this. Donno the reason for this though... <-QUOTE}
Pestpatrol was and is always very strong in detecting "Riskware", like you already explained for that reason it are no FP's.
Have tried Pestpatrol v5 this morning on one of my test-machines, have put some keyloggers on the machine, P2P-programs, keygenerators/cracks and password-recovery programs.
Results: Pestpatrol found them all!:P
For sure all of the discovered items were no false positives, but 'cause it's Riskware, Pestpatrol V5 paid attention to it like the old versions did too.
What is the lesson?
ALWAYS make a backup BEFORE removing found items, but this concerns not only items found by Pestpatrol, it should be done with all items found by other products like SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, BoClean etc. etc..
For an "expert" the found items are no problem at all.
For the "normal" user it could be a problem, they are removing found items which are not really "pests" but like you said category "Riskware".
Like Nick explained: when a user is not sure for 100% what to do with found "pests", he should always ask advice to "experts" before removing anything.
BTW: there is on this planet no anti-spyware or anti-virus program FP-free, therefore precautions before removing anything are always very important.

So now I'm finally home I tried PestPatrol in a virtual machine (I know EZ Antivirus very well already, so no need to test it out again...). Personally I was quite impressed with it. I would never buy it, since we have free alternatives (Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy). But with this free license it'll be on my computer this year. Please notice that it found no false positives on my computer (also it didn't report my p2p programs: BitComet and eMule).

Short translation, the original eeeeeeeeeeeeeeemail is in german language:
The good news: "it is not necessary to install/activate the 2 programs before 11-1-2005, just install it when you decide to use it, on the moment the program is installed the 1 year license is count-down".
The bad news: I got no answer on my question, ´till what date the downloadlink will be available.

But, let me ask: I have only to download the setup within 1 November to use it always (I can activate it every time I want).
After that date link to the setup file will be closed.
The question is: and peer to peer? file sharing? If anyone will have this setup, have a complete copy of PEstPatrol valid for an year.
So, it has meaning to close link?

yes p2p can be not allowed but who can understand which version is the setup downloaded from the website before 1 november and which is downloaded from p2p?
I mean that this present from eTrust could be a trouble for the company....they would to give a present to all us until this date but after that everyone could however download setup file by other ways....so why the date-limit?
