Daily vs. Weekly Backup

When scheduling the creation of an image:

If I want to create the image every day, what is the difference between daily execution ("Perform this task every day") and weekly execution ("Every 1 week") where each day of the week is selected?

I believe the "weekly" choice would be more for picking a day, or a couple of days, each week to run the backup job. If you were going to select every day under the "weekly" choice, you may as well just select "daily", as that would be easier than clicking on each day of the week in the "weekly" choice.
