Is there a good, free, registry repair program?

Is there a good, free, registry repair program available? I downloaded two that were "free" (Free Resistry Fix, and Windows Registry Repair), and they both only did a little bit before they wanted you to buy their full versions.

Well two good registry cleaners are ccleaner and easycleaner... i'm not sure if thats exactly what you're looking for.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have been searching a lot online, and so far I have downloaded and used RegCleaner by TweakNow and ccleaner. There are some entries that RegCleaner found, but could not determine a status for to make a recomendation to delete it or not. Here is a screenshot of the entries......any suggestions?

-{ Quote: "Here is a screenshot of the entries......any suggestions?" }-Do a search for the DLL files mentioned. If they do not exist on your system then it should be safe to delete any keys mentioning them (this is how most registry cleaners work). However do keep a backup, just in case.

If you're a novice or beginner my advice is don't ever try to remove or delete something in your registry that you're not sure for what it is... better leave it alone. It's more better to be safe than sorry. :-[

Always check the back-up option.

Maybe you can try the jv16 PowerTools the free version is great... select only the green entries and click fix. Also you can try their paid version... you trial it for 30 days to fix your registry problems. ;)

the latest version of RegSeeker (version 1.45) is very aggressive... and still beta... so this is more suitable for advance users. I didn't use it...coz I felt nervous. :-\

Even I won't use RegSeeker for that same reason. Jv16 all the way, for me. With the latest version, I've never once had a problem after selecting all and fixing/deleting everything it found. Very safe, but still very thorough.

Absolutely, RegSupreme and RegSupreme Pro are the same thing, just with fewer features.. jv16 has a bunch of file cleaning tools, etc., added in. I realize these aren't free, but they're very much worth it, IMO.. and not that expensive at all.

To keep it on track, though, I've heard good things about EasyCleaner (http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/ecleane.htm), Gizmo at TechSupportAlert recommends it, and his recommendations are usually very good.

That's strange, it's working just fine here.. everything is english for me except for one or two lines in the links bar at the top. Glad you got it, though :)

Nah, you shouldn't need to disable anything when using any registry cleaner.

I have a registry cleaner which I am used to running after uninstalling software and am happy with this to date.
Sorry not free so I can't list it for recommending a free one :(

I also use CCleaner basically for cleaning the defaults before shutting down after browsing and using applications.
I have never used the registry part of this to check for problems.

I have been reading a lot of recommendations for Easy Cleaner but am not sure if I need this in addition to my own Reg.cleaner + CCleaner.
There was an interesting post recently about how many .tmp are found with one and cleaned then another cleaner found even more ???
I have always puzzled if I should install Easy cleaner to look after temp. files of does CCleaner suffice for this?

I know one too many cleaners can cause conflicts.
