View Full Version : New to PG - Defrag.exe? au_.exe?

Free PG 3.150 since 2 days back - and I love it!
Defrag.exe wants to start "out of the blue" meaning I did not push any button.
When I allow it I never see anything of it - defrag does not start. ???
Whats au_.exe? Some sort of update?
Best Regards

Hi Rivalen, Yo wrote -{ Quote: "Whats au_.exe? you can turn off "auto-defragging" (in win xp) with "tweakui" (for win xp)..
you can get "tweakui" for win xp from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
i noticed that my computer "auto-defragged" today.. i went to run defrag, and found that it had already "defragged"..

As for au_.exe you're welcome to zip and email it to the email address in my profile. Before doing so perhaps upload it to http://virusscan.jotti.org (a good place to be your first visit when unsure!)

Does anyone know what the process Au_.exe is??
I have a computer that shows Au_.exe and Bu_.exe taking up 99% of the system.
Any idea what they are from??

Send both files to me please.. no usable results from a search would indicate possible malware

Is it not bad for hard drive to be defragged all the time? I have a similar situation see my post at http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?p=607385#post607385

Where do you see that it has auto defragged please? I do not see in reports. I have XP Home in case that is different. Thanks

lol well thats what exactly AVG picked up :) . Good research.
I would recommend to anyone that doesnt have AVG and has this problem go to www.grisoft.com and get AVG Anti-Virus free addition and AVG Anti-Spyware. both are free.
