View Full Version : Macromedia Flash Player version?

I'm curious if there is a way to tell which version of Macromedia Flash Player is installed on one's machine.

Tonight, the Flash Player "icon" appeared in the system tray, notifying me that there was a "new" version - *8* - of Flash. I read a little on it, and decided to go ahead and "install" the latest version. But the upgrade didn't provide me with ANY information once completed....it just closed out the wizard with no reboot, no message, no nothing.

So I'm wondering if there is any way to check to make sure the latest version has been installed. It's more of a curiousity than a serious need, but if anyone knows how I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Hi JRCATES :)
By going to this web link you will be able to see what build you have installed

I thought one way to check the version installed was to go to the Windows folder, and click on Downloaded Program Files. I have a Shockwave Flash Object listed there, and the version number given under Properties is 8.0.22.0.

However, going to that link given by Nick gives me a version number of 7.0.19.0.

I had a similar problem, Tony, although it was between Firefox and IE. Firefox said 8,0,22,0 but IE said version 7! So I downlaoded again through IE, rebooted, and it said 8,0,22,0 through my IE browser. Seemed kinda odd and like and extra step to take, but it finally seemed to work and take......
