Best Antitrojan: Ewido or A-squared? Wich one has better detection rates in realtime protection?

My guess is Ewido, but I'm not good in guessing.

For what I have read, ewido have a better detection rate than a-squared, but a-squared have the IDS protection and use less resources on active protection than ewido...

Can't really offer you an opinion on the detection rate but can offer you the results of a recent discussion here at the forum.

It was stated by a member here....(not by me) that A2 basically was useless when it came to "cleaning up the mess once a trojan got into the OS"

an that: again this statement was not by me but by the member.....A2 was mainly ment to "guard" against the entry of trojans........as the member went on to say that the vendor of A2 made this claim himself.
Frankly I find such a claim confusing......at the time I had A2 installed on two computers but quickly removed A2 and installed Ewido. Until someone comes along and clears this up I will stay away from A2.......which I thought was a nice program until this info was brought up

That is putting it rather strongly!

It is one thing to say that ewido has a better demand scanner, but quite another to say that A2 has a useless demand scanner! If I believed that I would never bother to do demand scans with A2; as it is I do believe it does give a worthwhile scan.

But it is a question of emphasis - A2 is aiming to be able to intercept things before a sig even appears in its data base, by looking for malware-like behaviour through the Guard, while ewido has a sig based Guard and a powerful scanner.

Which approach is better is a matter for personal choice.

I suppose that an AntiTrojan which *allows* a trojan to enter & become entrenched NEEDS to be good at cleaning up the mess. Nothing has ever gotten past A-squared on my computer, so I have no idea as to how well it cleans. Frankly, I would rather not have to find out.:P

getting "real-time" protection, choose A2 ; however, if you want the
FREE version of either program ( without real-time protection ), get
Ewido !?
