Lawmaker Questions Comcast Exec @ Yahoo (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20020213/ap_on_hi_te/internet_privacy_12) Comcast Tracks Users' Web Browsing @ Yahoo (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20020213/ap_on_hi_te/internet_privacy_9) Comcast User Tracking @ DSLR (http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/15091)

A quote from the first bullet:

{QUOTE-> Rep. Ed Markey, an aggressive privacy advocate in Congress, pressed the top executive at Comcast Corp. on Wednesday over the company's decision to begin recording the Web browsing activities of each of its 1 million high-speed Internet subscribers.
*
He said the company's action could be in violation of federal law.

In a link from the third bullet:

{QUOTE-> Beginning immediately, we will stop storing
this individual customer information in order to completely
reassure our customers that the privacy of their information is
secure.`` <-QUOTE}

Needless to say I was on the line with Comcast for an hour today lodging a complaint. *It seems the press was put to good use today.

What I find unsusual is that although Comcast "claimed" to be using the data for making their network better...there was no evidence of such action.

Sounds a lot like "Big Brother is spying on you"... *;)

Enjoy! *;D
