Its a good read. I particularly like the debunking of the myth that a hosts file makes you any safer.

i dont. being a member of Wilders, a security forum, i believe that a HOSTS file helps but like any security program, it may produce false positives and there is that problem with the dns service.

I particularly like the one about defragging. I get tired of seeing these sites that proclaim there's no reason to defrag XP.. why they would go out of their way to say that, I don't know. It really does work, folks. :)
I'm really not a fan of HOSTS files either, but I'll agree that there is some security benefit.. just not any more than a generic ad filter (like the Ad Block for Firefox), IMO, and probably less.
