Hi jak, and welcome!

Have a look at the following info:

FYI: Ad-aware (a freeware program dealing with spyware) can handle this one.

I thought Ad-Aware reported a false positive for Alexa in the registry?

(Fixed the glitch. *Tx)

Hey Checkout,

Your quote has some glitches *;)

Here's a copy and paste from the Lavasoft/Ad-aware Board Administrator (Coldmoon), dated March 5th:

{QUOTE-> The Alexa key is harmless in itself. It is for the "what's related" button. But given their past track record, well ... you be the judge of whether to trust it or not. If this is a feature you use, I would add it to your ignore list. Removal will only dissable that feature I mentioned. If you use the IE repair tool, it will be restored. So you can remove it without any adverse effects. <-QUOTE}

Thus: in essence, it's a harmless key. Nevertheless, personally I would remove it.

my Ad- Aware detected Alexa after the last update, but not before that. I removed it cause I remove anything Ad-Aware doesn't like if I don't know for sure it belongs there. Someday I may regret such behavior.

Not necesserally: be sure to back up first before removing *;)
