Hmm i've just installed it. It seems to be great! Ram usage is about 25-30 MB (A lil high i know) but it seems VERY light! Lighter than KAV, NOD32 and McAfee VS Enterprise 8.0i! Even while doing a FULL system scan, i cannot even notice its there! I mean that IS light!
What do you guys think?

I'd done probably over a hundred Sym CE/SBE installs over the years to many clients, going way waaaay back to...hmmm...can't remember....version 5 or 6 I think? I had been a long time fan of it up til around version 9. Easy and intuitive management console, but IMO starting with version 9 it got quite bloated, esp with version 10, and the licensing got to be a pain (and $$$). (except from some non-profit clients of mine because Symantec contributes to Techsoup nicely)
I've switched over to NOD32 over a year ago, replacing all my Sym CE clients with it as their licensing with Symantec expires. I in no way see Sym CE as lighter, and it's neat to see NOD32 pickup stuff prior versions of Sym CE never found when I deploy/replace on networks. I find the Remote Admin Console of NOD32 Ent Edition far more robust also.

Yes POP/SMTP scanning was introduced with 9....and prior to that earlier versions always bagged baddies in my experience anyways with real time file protection, IMO "POP scanning" is just a warm and fuzzy selling feature.

Just open up the client on the main server...you'll see the settings there.

How does Sym CE compare with NOD? I mean i know the stats at av-comparatives.
NOD32: Best heuristics, IMON, Light, but not as good detection rates as Sym CE, no updates on weekends.
Sym CE: Very good detection rates, lifetime updates, daily updates (even on weekends), no HTTP scanner, not as light.
Im confused!

I disagree with Sym CE having better detection rates than NOD...I've replaced Symantec on some networks with NOD and within hours I'll see NOD throwing up alerts of things it's caught that Symantec never did. Granted its been adware/trojan stuff, I don't recall seeing it catch a virus/worm that Symantec missed. But in todays offices, adware/trojans are getting to be a big pain in the butt.
Symantec has been improving its updates moving toward the daily model...however, I've seen as many as 5x updates in one day from NOD32. And if there are big outbreaks on weekends, NOD will release updates.
