Thanks for that info, nicolaasjan. I didn't know.
As mantra wants it for kids browsing, perhaps such filter list which also blocks legitimate software sites, could be even more welcome. That's up to mantra.

walla, over 100k entries is definitely too much for a single list. it blows my current lists for 33%.

Thanks for mentioning the high number of entries.
Were you referring to the "uBlock combo list" that mantra asked about? Or a different list?
Regarding the "uBlock combo list", I hadn't looked for a number of entries, I was just replying to what mantra asked.
At iam-py-test's uBlock combo list page, I don't find a number of entries for the "uBlock combo list". However, the "all-purpose" list by yokoffing to which is linked, mentions 81k rules for the uBlock combo list. Which is still a lot, of course, but not over 100k. I cannot say whether that 81k is still correct, or if perhaps the 100k that you found is the new number.

I'm sorry, I don't use that and I never studied those capabilities.
I hope nicolaasjan's links regarding dynamic filtering and 'The Ultimate Superuser’s Guide' are helpful.
If you need more information, perhaps nicolaasjan or someone else can help you with more links.

Why not use secure DNS? Quad9 DNS for example.

My Grayware Blocklist for uBO/AdGuard MV2 blocks many questionable TLDs, which I select manually from Spamhaus and SURBL and update about every 2 weeks. I rarely encounter any problems. The list also includes some typosquatting domains and attempts to reinsert ads.

Yes my bad, I started it, but will not mention this extension again on this forum. But I have another question to everyone, is it just me or do we now get to see sponsored ads on Google Search again? So when I search for ''laptops'' for example, in the middle of the search results I will get to see ads. It doesn't bother me that much, but I found it strange that uBlock doesn't block it with my current filters.

    Hi Rasheed,
I tested, and I think I see the same. However, I think it is not the ads that one sees without content blocking, but it is part of Google's product search. Product search is a separate option in the Google search toolbar, but it seems product search results are mixed in with the regular search results as well, which is rather annoying.
I hadn't noticed before, as I normally use Startpage search.

OK thanks for checking, it's indeed not exactly the same as sponsored results, but they are still ads to me. On the other hand, I didn't realize it was Google's own Products feature, I never really noticed this before. I wonder if this can still be somehow blocked. I couldn't do with the element picker, since they keep appearing.

BTW, another annoying thing I noticed in the My Filters section, is that I now get to see ''Enable my custom filters'' (Do not add filters from untrusted sources), I want to hide this stuff. I seriously wish I could disable automatic updating of extensions in Vivaldi (Chromium). Why they didn't add this option is beyond me, it's so stupid.

    Greetings,

It only has ~662 rules, but the TLD filters block all domains that end with them, so for example,
    Code:
    ||support^$all
would block sites like microsoft-help[.]support/* or apple-mac[.]support that may not yet exist, because the whole ".support" domain is considered suspicious.

Quad9 has become a lot more reliable at my location than in years past, so I use it now instead of Adguard DNS. Quad9 has a superior privacy policy compared with Cloudflare; i.e., https://quad9.com/privacy/policy/ - also cf. https://discuss.privacyguides.net/t/quad9-or-cloudflare/15744

    hi SouthPark
do you use Secured w/ECS: Malware blocking, DNSSEC Validation, ECS enabled or Malware Blocking, DNSSEC Validation (this is the most typical configuration) ?
I guess they are slower than cloudflare , i have read the cloudflare could block more malware in the past months

Is this still related to uBO? Please stay on topic.
